What is RSS?

RSS is short for Really Simple Syndication. It's an XML file that can be read by special feed reading software or a web service you can use from your web browser. Put the address of our RSS feed into your reader, and it will display the latest news and updates.

How to use RSS feeds?

To view our RSS feeds in a feed reader or aggregator. Feed readers you could try include:

• For PC users: Sharp Reader and Mozilla Thunderbird (includes email reader)
• For Mac users: NetNewsWire
• Windows/Mac/Linux: Amphetadesk
• For Firefox users: Sage plugin
• Web-based reader: BlogLines

How to use LIVE Bookmarks?

To view our LIVE Bookmarks:

• For Firefox users: If a page that has a LIVE Bookmark you'll see an orange or red icon in the address bar, just click it and add the LIVE Bookmark
• For Opera users: Tis works the same way as Firefox, see above...
• For Internet Explorer users: Versions 6 & below will need a plugin, you can get the free PLUCK here. It looks like IE 7 will not need this plugin.
• Web-based reader: PLUCK again... This will work on any operating system with internet access.

Once you have installed a feed reader you can add the cathybarry.com RSS feed by clicking on the RSS feed links above (http://www.cathybarry.com/rss_feed/cathybarry_feed.xml). Setting up a feed differs from one aggregator to another, but it usually involves copying the URL of the feed (from the address bar on your browser) and pasting it into the reader.
